Smokey bacon, sweet candy, a little spice – What’s not to like?

INGREDIENTS
Candied Bacon- 4 slices of bacon (thick cut is best)
- 3 oz (80g) maple syrup
- 1 oz (32g) brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Bacon (thick cut is best)
- Chocolate and vanilla melting wafers
- Peanut butter chips
- Caramel
- Sprinkles
SUPPLIES
- An 8×8 pan
- Foil
- Parchment
- Cooking spray
- A small mixing bowl
- A spatula
DIRECTIONS
Candied Bacon- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a baking pan with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
- Combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
- Dip the bacon strips into the mixture, then strip off some of the excess.
- Place them on the baking pan.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, rotating halfway through.
- Remove from oven and place bacon on rack to cool.
- Melt wafers.
- Apply candy coating by dipping or brushing.
- Drizzle melted wafers or caramel or apply sprinkles.
- Place on parchment or waxed paper to set.
